Mark and Goran Gigic have been involved in the family business from the time they were young boys. After graduating, the brothers became active in every aspect of the operations. They inherited a passion for wood and honed their craftsmanship as carpenters, following in the footsteps of generations past. It was in their DNA.

Mark and Goran are carrying on the family legacy, respecting the heritage, quality and integrity on which the business and brand were founded. They continue to embrace innovation, and have introduced revolutionary, industry-leading engineering technologies and processes that have elevated the quality, safety and longevity of their products, beyond those in their industry.

Their great grandfather was a carpenter in Yugoslavia in the late 1800s. He built churches that were richly decorated with intricate carvings and distinct architectural aesthetics. Their grandfather, Ivan, was also an accomplished wood craftsman who created fine furniture in his workshop. This is where Mark and Goran’s father, Milan, became fascinated with the cutting and shaping of wood, and found his calling.

With a degree in civil engineering, he emigrated to Canada, where he dreamed of providing his young family with a better life. He worked in physically demanding jobs that required extensive travel and long periods away from home. Milan longed to spend more quality time with his wife and children, so after working for one of the largest window shutter companies in the country, he decided to leverage his knowledge and experience, and started a small business of his own. In 1987, he launched Canada Custom Shutters & Blinds, where his entrepreneurship and creativity flourished, and the company grew.
